Tay Mo Dai Mo new urban area is located in the new urban expansion area of Hanoi, to the West on the Hoa Lac motorway. This is a famous village which has been used for setting by many film directors thank to its typical feature of Northern Vietnam villages.
The project develops a new housing district connecting the old village of Tay Mo Dai Mo with an ecological parkway. This parkway is the key element of the organisation in the master plan; it is a large green strip with car circulation including park, garden and public facilities for the existing village and the future new inhabitant. The parkway splits but also connects the two cities as a gathering-buffer element. The main parkway connects any area of the new urban fabric with small green corridor like small fingers. This organisation gives a secondary network for pedestrian or bicycle track. Existing rain water network is also reuse in this new layout organisation. Urban fabric is mainly composed of housing (villas and tubes houses) and apartment units (towers buildings on podiums) with all facilities. An important effort has been done to implement tertiary activities and an important commercial area, not to have a mono-function zoning but to promote mix use that is not the really habit until now in Vietnam.
