A new financial center

  • Client: Teda (Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Area)
  • Prime Contractor: AREP Ville and ECADI associated (East China Architectural Design and Research)
  • Delivery: 2005
The TEDA Financial Centre is a new district in Tianjin, a major regional manufacturing financial and residential magnet.
The site is organised around a north-south route with an high-rise office building towering to 80 metres at one end. The finance buildings are laid out all along this route and feature semi-public areas reminiscent of traditional Chinese formal gardens. The luxury housing is mixed in with shops, services and leisure amenities and concentrated in the northern part of the site, and also boasts intimate interior gardens. All these buildings use brick, glass and steel in a similar architectural register.
