A new station integrated in a park

  • Client: Chengdu Metro
  • Partner: China Southwest Architectural Design & Research Institute Corp., Ltd
  • Surface: 220 000 m²
This new project of garden station designed by AREP is an example of integration and respect of the surrounding urban space.
The station is located 28 km from Chengdu city centre and inside TianFu's central park. The design concept is based on the premise of a station incorporated in a garden (“garden-station”). The multi-modal hub is served by metro lines 1 and 18 (in a planning stage) as well as lines 6 and Meishan whose construction is due to start soon. It is also an interchange for several tram and bus lines. By this new project, we demonstrate our ongoing commitment to conceiving stations that integrate with the urban environment and respect their surroundings.
