A iibrairy, a museum  and fair and exhibition complex

  • Client: Quang Ninh Province’s Management Board of Sport and Culture
  • Project management: AREP Ville
  • Project area: 41 029 m²
  • Competition: 2012
On the background of legendary landscape of Ha Long Bay, the complex is designed to preserve and enhance the most of natural beauty.
Buildings are freely arranged in a stack of random blocks, like an extension of thousands of stone mountains scattering in the Bay. The whole site is organised as a big garden with mature trees in East and West ends and a central square of large lawn. Flat roofs symbolize the sparkling sky, enlightening at night from underneath by light-reflective ceilings. Translucent facades disclosing a grand staircase suggest an image of a typical natural cave in day time and a deep and mysterious light glow in night time. Terrace and amphitheatre shall be useful space for public events and favourite destination of lovers and romances. Apart from the main buildings, other sub-functional blocks are also added in an impressive integration with the general architectural style.
