The express maintenance centre is a light maintenance depot for rolling stock.
The site is composed of three buildings: the express maintenance centre, the area for axle inspection as well as the pit where axles can be cleaned. An office, a living area, toilets, technical facilities and a storage room complement the project. The layout of the service areas obeys the function-driven organization of circulations and routes, maintenance activities and rolling stock. The volumes are simple and legible with identical finishing details. The express maintenance centre consists of a metal frame made of galvanized steel, which is covered with a cladding composed of pre-painted, galvanized steel flat blades. The copings, prominent corner connectors and vertical joints are made of grey lacquered steel. On the south side of the building, the façade is fitted with outward projecting sash windows painted in white, which allow for fresh air to flow in. On the north side of the building, a 4m-high translucent polycarbonate board, which extends to the east gable, allows for natural light to filter in.
