Architectural design and urban integration of seven new stations

  • Client: RTA (Roads and Transport Authority)
  • Project management: Parsons, Systra (infrastructure studies), AREP (design studies), Terrao
The Red Line extension responds to the challenge both of the 2020 World Expo and the extension of the city towards Al Makhtoum airport.
The metro extension features seven new stations with a common identity:

• one transfer station
• three elevated stations
• two underground stations
• the World Expo station.

AREP in joint venture with Parsons and Systra carried out the architectural design and the urban integration project after a first stage including an audit and the optimization of the existing stations.
