In front of the increases of traffic planned with in particular the arrival of the Rhine-Rhône TGV, the platform with figures owed to be re-sized to ameliorate the space and increase travelers facilities (35 millions of annual travelers for main lines).

In echo in the architectural vocabulary of the restored existing hall, and so as to form a coherent group, two additional halls are realized in the tradition of the big botanical greenhouses of the XIXth century. The group allows a consequent spatial reorganization and to create a real urban facade in the contemporary writing.
