AREP'S EXPERTISE TO SUPPORT TRANSPORT HUB DEVELOPMENT IN BRAZIL

Share news
AREP has been selected to carry out a pre-feasibility study for the development of two major railway stations in Brazil: Barra Funda in Sao Paulo (more than 400,000 users per day) and Central Do Brasil in Rio de Janeiro (more than 600,000 users per day).

The study is being carried out in partnership with EGIS for the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and is aimed at enhancing the effective integration of the stations with other modes of transport and the surrounding area. The first phase of the study is currently underway. It consists in analyzing both the existing situation (surrounding area, urban mobility, passenger flow, organizational issues) and the needs to be met. The results will be made public in mid-June and will determine whether the study needs to be further developed.

AREP in partnership with CODATU has been operating in Brazil since 2017 and has been involved in various initiatives that promote the involvement of local authorities in urban mobility and public transportation projects.
