GRAND PARIS: AREP WINS THE CONTRACT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF CHARENTON-BERCY

Share news

AREP is a member of the UrbanEra-led consortium (Bouygues Immobilier) that won the contract for the development of the Charenton-Bercy site in Paris. The project was submitted as part of the "Reinventing the Grand Paris metropolitan area" call for projects, held by the Métropole du Grand Paris, the Paris Region Prefecture and the Société du Grand Paris.

This major urban project will be developed on brownfield land and includes new constructions above the rail lines, a high-rise building, a crossing structure and probably a new station at the gates of Paris.

AREP has provided expertise in pedestrian flow management, urban planning and architectural design while taking part in the mobility-related aspects of the project, such as the urban mobility master plan, construction on rail land, rail crossing facilities, and the feasibility of a new station on RER line D.

Our project puts forward the construction of a pedestrian bridge that not only connects the various districts of Charenton-Le-Pont to one another but also the city itself to the transport network. The footbridge functions as an urban promenade featuring a generous and green civic space that will put the Bois de Vincennes less than a 15-minute walk away from the Seine River and may accommodate a new station connecting the area to the Grand Paris transport network.
