AREP TASKED BY IRANIAN RAILWAYS TO TAKE PART IN RAIL NETWORK MODERNIZATION

Share news
AREP has been selected by the Iranian government to assist them with the modernization of the country's rail network and the creation of a high-speed rail line. AREP is in charge of the studies aimed at optimizing several rail sites in Tehran, Qom, and Mashhad.

AREP is notably in charge of the master plan for the redevelopment of the station of Tehran (a 162-ha site) and will also explore further development opportunities throughout the city and the conurbation of Tehran as well as potential locations for the future high-speed rail stations. AREP will also draft the architectural proposals regarding the renovation of seven railway stations and interchange hubs on the outskirts of Tehran. These studies draw on expertise from different fields, such as rail engineering, project management, environment, design, space programming, urban planning, and architectural design.
For this project we will be working hand in hand with the Iranian Railways and the City of Iran. Our International Urban Studies department has been running several inclusive design workshops over the past few months.

The studies are expected to be completed in March 2019.
